JavaScript Bible 6th Edition is Here

I have just received the brand new, 6th edition of Danny Goodman’s JavaScript Bible. With strong emergence of Mozilla and Safari browsers, as well as considerable advancements in the Internet Explorer engine, this is a much needed update!

Compatibility comparisons now range from Netscape Navigator 4 to the latest versions of Netscape 7.0+, Firefox 1.0+ and Camino 1.0+ (collectively designated as “Moz” in the book), from Internet Explorer 5 for Mac to Internet Explorer 7 for Windows. Safari is also included, although this browser seems to receive constant incremental updates so it’s a moving target. Oddly enough, I don’t see any mention of Opera.

Warning: the publisher has chosen an awful typeface for the book. It’s much too light and small. Older versions had nice, legible fonts. This edition is a publishing mistake in terms of typeface choice. I also noticed errors right away, so keep your eyes open.

Other than that, it’s good to have the latest edition of this essential reference!

P.S.: I’ve rated the book at Positive Lookahead and would like to encourage you to do the same (i.e. rate your favorite books).
