Happy Birthday, CSS!

CSS2 has turned 6 today! Time flies. CSS has definitely come a long way despite slow acceptance in the collective minds of both designers and developers alike. I really hope we will be seeing more meaningful designs with stylesheets longer than 10 lines of basic stuff. A year ago my stylesheets were 10 lines long!

Personal thanks to those who have been an inspiration (you see their links in the sidebar). Kudos to those who ventured to dump tag soup in favor of clean and lightweight design. It definitely takes courage.

In retrospect it's also ironic that some browsers have managed to even implement some of CSS3 properties, while others still can't get their act together. :) Every other technology has taken a giant leap over these years.
