Give Thanks

This year’s Thanksgiving parade in New York City was no different from those of the past couple of years—a show of brands and high school marching bands. I expressed my opinion about this worship of consumerism two years ago, so I’ll save my breath here.

Gotta hand it to them: it’s fun for kids to watch. What do they know about a 600-calorie hamburger? McDonald is only a clown to them.

One commercial captured my attention. If I’m not mistaken, it was Robin Williams promoting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It carried the best message I’ve heard in a long time: "Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life and give to those who are not."

That, my friends, tops everything else.

That message truely does top all I love seeing the commercials in the Movie theaters and enjoy donating to them every year along to the Salvation Army as well. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and have a very Merry Christmas.
