Spammers Push the Envelope of Web Standards
Posted in Apologetics
Spammers have become an integral part of our lives. Without them we'd never know that there are more deaths in the US from obesity than from heart attacks.
It is these tireless people who go to great lengths to study pharmacology. I never knew that every male on this planet was either severely underdeveloped or dangerously overdeveloped.
It is these tireless people who dedicate much time and effort to studying the technology. I never knew that besides the standard HTML 4 tags there were undocumented ones such as <abdicate> and <perusal>.
I've looked though spam emails I received today. Most of them happened to be HTML, and by viewing their source I made an observation: W3C is hiding undocumented DOCTYPES from me and you! Here's proof:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 0.0 Transitional//EN"> <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 6.0 Transitional//EN"> <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 9.0 Transitional//EN">
I never knew there were DOCTYPEs they never told us about!
The rationale is this: somewhere in top-secret labs new standards are being developed as we speak! In light of this I think we need to go easy on spammers and let them do their thing. It takes W3C years to publish a standard, and then it takes browser manufacturers years to catch up. Do not hinder spammers because they make it happen much faster!
If you took this post seriously you need urgent medical attention! But first, take some Prozac.
